Summary
Provide leadership within a specific Global Medical Affairs function and actively participate/lead in broad range of medical affairs activities, including:
§ Preparation of clinical development plans
§ Design and conduct Phase IIIB/IV trials
§ Medical leadership in promotional material review
§ Medical accuracy assessments for CME and Patient Advocacy
Duties and Responsibilities
This position has potential for advancement within Medical Affairs. A qualified candidate with the right experience can assume increasing levels of responsibilities, including leading specific functions within Medical Affairs and people management.
Qualified candidate will be an integral part of the leadership team in determining strategy, annual goals and maintenance of excellence in standards and practices.
Specific accountabilities include:
Managing the medical affairs communications, analytics and health economics group and training activities
Other responsibilities are shared with two other physicians in the group such as
§ Perform medical review/examine the medical and scientific content of all promotional materials
§ Review of all CME materials and symposia for medical accuracy
§ The development and approval of all medical drug information materials
§ Participate in the development and review of all investigator initiated studies
§ Presentation of data at regional and national advisory boards
§ Conducting site visits and hospital lectures
§ Coach and teach the Sales Force and Medical Science Liaisons
§ Meeting with lobbyists and members of Congress, Regulators, as needed
§ Regular interaction with key medical opinion leaders
Qualifications
Board certified MD with a minimum of 5 years in a clinical or pharmaceutical setting-with background in Medical Affairs or Clinical Research
Must have extensive experience in hematology andoncology.
Excellent presentation skills; oral and written communication
Ability to work successfully in a fast paced environment
Excellent collaboration skills; experience working across functions to achieve results
Broad working knowledge of GCP/ICH/FDA requirements, clinical trial design and strategies, commercial and publication strategy and medical information process.
Willingness and availability to travel. This is a critical aspect of activities for physicians.
